WhatsApp Enhances Privacy with Linked Device Chat Lock

In May 2023, Meta introduced the Chat Lock feature into WhatsApp. This feature allowed users to lock and hide their chats behind a passcode or biometric lock. And while this is a pretty useful feature, it only works on primary devices.

But, all that will change with a coming update. Last month, a new report emerged that stated that the company has been testing the Chat Lock feature on linked devices and has already rolled out the feature to a couple of select users. 

Meta will now be making this feature available to all users now.

According to a new report, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android will now offer a Chat Lock feature for linked devices as well. And it is for everyone this time.

As of right now, there is little to no information about when we can expect Meta to roll out the update, but the company will be rolling out the feature after they have tested it thoroughly in the beta.

This means that the feature might be more than a couple of weeks away from getting to our devices.
