Apple Beta 3 iOS 18.1

The recent addition of Apple intelligence is undoubtedly going to influence iPhone end users in various ways. Apple has not only released beta 8 of iOS 18 but also released beta 3 of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1 with all the latest Apple intelligence goodies.

iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, Apple Silicon iPads, and Apple Silicon Macs are the devices where these beta features can be installed; however, they are not readily obtainable on the older models.

The updates can be downloaded through the Settings app by navigating to General > Software Updates > Beta Updates and installing the latest build.

There aren’t all the Apple Intelligence features available yet, but here’s a look-up of what’s active in the beta:

Apple writing tool
  • Writing Tools:  Text can be selected. It can be used for spell-checking, fixing grammar, rewriting with a new tone, and summarizing text.
    Apple Siri
  • Siri: A new design with a subtle glow display can be seen.‌ Siri‌ is capable of keeping track of the context between requests, enabling users to ask questions and refer to them in a subsequent response. It also has Apple’s product knowledge and can even find settings when you don’t know the exact name.
  • Mail and Messages: Apple intelligence can smart reply and provide quick-tap responses with contextual options based on what’s in the email and messages.
  • Photos: You can just describe what you’re looking for in the photos with the help of natural language, such as “Eric rollerskating while wearing green.”
  • Safari: Any article that you are reading on your Apple gadget will now be summarized by the new Apple intelligence feature.

As for now, this is what is new in the beta versions. We will wait for developers to add more Siri features before updating to the latest build.
