Google is diversifying Gmail summary cards with support for package tracking, new email actions, and more. It has revamped Gmail’s usage more by simplifying user’s experience. The company announced on 2nd October that it is planning on bringing a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered feature ‘Happening Soon’ tab and has redesigned the Summaries card.
The ‘Happening Soon’ tab will sit on top of the inboxes and will inform users about upcoming events without opening the individual mail. For example, it will timely deliver summary cards when you open up Gmail. The card will inform you that the order you placed last week is out for dispatch today.
“If you have multiple deliveries arriving in the same timeframe, the summary cards are stacked, and you can expand, dismiss or click to go directly to the related email,” the company added.
The tech giant says all of its summary cards are changing and getting updates in real time. It will also include interactive action buttons. Other abilities include adding an event to the calendar, inviting others to the event, or setting up a bill payment reminder. Subsequently, it will be a time saver as there would be no need for users to open every mail individually and find the respective task.
According to the latest blog by Google, purchase cards for individual email have already been rolled out on Android and iOS. The release for the ‘happening soon’ tab might face a bit of delay. So, the full summary card experience from Google requires you to be patient.
