At least five titles under the Warner Bros. Discovery banner, especially from Cartoon Network Games have vanished from digital storefronts such as Steam and the Nintendo eShop supposedly for the good.
As noted by Wario64, his sweeping removal consists of Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games, Steven Universe: Save the Light, Adventure Time: Finn and Jake’s Epic Quest, Steven Universe: Unleash the Light, and OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes, all of which were taken off the market on Monday.
In addition to this, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time which was published by Adult Swim Games has also been pulled out from sale. This action is similar to the wave of removals that was witnessed in July when titles such as Mega Coin Squad, Zenzizenzic, and Traverser were delisted.
Each of the removed games features a brief notice on Steam where it is indicated that these titles are not available anymore for sale after the 23rd of December, 2024. These messages are either linked to ‘Adult Swim Games’ or ‘Cartoon Network Games.’
Several titles from Cartoon Network Games will still be on Steam like Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake and Cartoon Network Journeys VR. Users can still purchase the soundtrack for OK K.O! Let’s Play Heroes on the platform.
Neither Adult Swim Games, Cartoon Network Games nor Warner Bros. Discovery have offered any proper explanation for the delisting that took place. The decision mirrors a previously planned removal of several non-licensed games by Adult Swim Games from indie developers. Luckily, a lot of titles from the list were rescued because of public outcry which further led the publisher to transfer ownership back to the original developers. Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Discovery also shut down the Cartoon Network Website which now redirects the users to Max, which is a major streaming platform of the company.
