Google Photos has some pretty neat features that make it one of the best photo storage apps. And that’s not all, the app has an uncanny ability to spot faces and it can get it right most of the time.
It then uses these faces for many other things, like People Search and Memories, but sometimes, as you go through life, there are some memories you’d rather not see but cannot delete either. Well, Google Photos is preparing to make that a possibility by giving you more control over which faces you will see regularly through the Memories feature.
Android Authority contributor Assemble Debuf first found this new feature in Google Photos v6.81.0.628906483. Users will soon be able to use the “Shoe Less” option to have a face not show up in your Memories section.
But these photos will still be available in your Group Photos. Aside from this, the “People & Pets” section in Google Photos where you can name the faces that appear in your photos, will have a new section added too.
You can also access the new “Hide Face From Memories” option by going through Settings >> Preferences >> Memories >> Hide People and Pets.
The new feature is not yet live within the app and Google is still testing out the feature. So there is a chance that it will roll out very soon, considering the way it can help you hide unpleasant memories without deleting them.
