At Akamai Technologies, Senior Product Architect Akul Dewan is responsible for developing architectural plans for the App and API Protections team, which creates cybersecurity solutions, including sophisticated uses for national defense and other areas. Having more than ten years of experience, he has devoted his software engineering career to acquiring a thorough understanding of Generative Artificial Intelligence (gen-AI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. 

Akul is appreciated for his original contributions to the engineering field and his technical inventiveness. For ground-breaking developments of products, he has been given two US patents, and three are presently pending. He is scheduled to serve as an invited Judge for the Spring 2025 Data Science and Deep Learning Bootcamps.

Having finished his information technology bachelor’s degree in his native India, Akul sought a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Georgia, Athens (USA). Using his vast academic knowledge and professional experience with large-scale Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms, Akul has built and spearheaded new artificial intelligence teams. It supervises the development of the first AI/ML systems for several technology consulting companies, customers, and applications. 

He has extensive knowledge in systems fit to host ML processes meeting Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), near-real-time, and real-time inference needs when designing high throughput, fault-tolerant, and industry-standard compliant AI/ML platforms.
