amazon introduces new prime video ads

It has only been a couple of months since Amazon announced that they will be showing ads in their Prime Video streaming service and if users want to watch their content ad-free they need to dish out a couple of bucks more for the premium subscription per month.

If that was annoying then there is bad news for you. It is about to get even worse.

Amazon has recently revealed that it will be introducing three new video ad formats to its service which include: carousel ads, pause ads, and trivia ads. The main aim of Amazon’s introduction of these ads is to make users jump from their Prime Video platform directly to their digital storefront.

While these ads might be a way for Amazon to boost its sales, it has pretty much wrecked the user experience with many users complaining that it’s getting more infuriating than annoying.

Presently, Amazon adds several ad breaks into its videos and that already breaks the flow and immersion if someone is into a series or movie. Adding these new ad formats will only just make the Amazon Prime user experience that much worse.
