To an average consumer, the promise of a two-day shipping is more than we could hope for, and add to that the bonus access to Prime Video and other things and it becomes a must-have for any internet shopper.
But this two-day delivery has become an expectation and other retailers like Walmart and Target have caught on and have even introduced faster shipping options for their customers.
Now, Amazon has also started on a path to get ahead of the competition. In a recent press release, the company stated that their deliveries will be getting even faster. They announced that they have already delivered over 2 billion items in their Same-Day or Next-Day delivery to Prime members during the first three months of 2024.
As Amazon has complete control over its shipping and fulfillment, it has become one of the largest online marketplaces in the world. Recently, there have been rumors that they have been preparing their systems to make your deliveries even faster by integrating AI into some parts of their delivery process.
In 2019, Amazon said that it had been spending billions to build up its in-house fulfillment operation covering planes, trucks, drones, and robots to rival that of FedEx and UPS and allow for more One-Day-or-less deliveries for its customers.
