Android 15 is all set for smartphones; however, the tech giant is also working to bring it to the car-based Android Automotive platform. Various updates along with new functions and features have been added to it. For those who might be unfamiliar with Android Auto, let us guide you. Automotive is Android that runs on the car’s infotainment computer, not on your phone.
The manufacturer is yet to provide a detailed overview of the updates. However, tech enthusiasts spotted a few things in the official release notes. The Android 15 on Automotive will bring some improvements. The update focuses on a high-quality audio experience, an improved dock view, plus other connection benefits.
The new dock will make it easier for you to access your favorite apps, as it will provide you with an option to pin them. Furthermore, automobile manufacturers will have the opportunity to enhance their brand image. They can do it by personalizing the ambient view. This will be shown when the infotainment displays are on but not actively in use.
Android Automotive 15 also improves support for the HD Radio and DAB broadcast standards, thanks to the new improvements. These features were previously partially supported. However, with the release of version 15, all broadcast capabilities should be made available.
It will provide better connectivity options for your Bluetooth accessories, including headphones and earbuds, in your car. The new “Audio Output Device” option located in “Audio Settings.” It will enable the routing of media and sounds to your wireless devices or with in-car audio systems.
As for now, we are not sure whether these updates will come to the existing systems as well. Let’s wait together for a positive, detailed release soon from Google.
