Apple is just getting around to the software updates, and the launch becomes that much closer with the release of today’s release candidate (RC) versions of visionOS 2.4, tvOS 18.4, and others.
The RC update is all about stability fixes and bug fixes. The public release is said to come in early April. The updates would consist of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4, visionOS 2.4, watchOS 11.4, tvOS 18.4 and HomePod 18.4.
Apple released the RC betas of this whole suite, suggesting these would be the last versions for release to the public; however, it is not rare for a second RC to be subsequently issued.
As usual, the updates for the iPhone-iPad-Mac triad are really important. But this new software for Vision Pro is also enjoyable. It brings along new features like Apple Intelligence, a new Spatial Gallery app, Guest Mode improvements, and more.
The new Release Candidate betas should be live for those who have opted into developer beta updates in the Software Update section. With the release of these RC versions, Apple is now focused primarily on bug fixes and stability improvements, as new features at this stage could trigger new bugs and put the launch date of the software in jeopardy.
For beta users, today’s RC updates should enhance the smoothness of their travel. For non-beta users, it shouldn’t be longer than a week or two for the general availability of this update.
The forthcoming software will realize the Ambient Music Controls, which offer easy modes such as Sleep, Chill, Productivity, and Well-being. According to the user selection, each mode triggers its playlist. Also, the new applications and updates include a Food section for News+ that brings curated stories and recipes for culinary enthusiasts, and a new Vision Pro app for Vision Pro Mixed Reality.
