If you have been keenly reading about the new iPhone battery with an easy replacement since June, you are right! It is now confirmed that Apple has developed ‘electrically induced adhesive debonding’ technology. It is not only securely positioned inside the iPhone but is also easier for the engineers to swap out the batteries if required.
According to the latest report, Apple has shifted its focus on durability and repairability, giving more control to iPhone owners. The new technology is faster and safer by ‘running a low voltage electric current through the new ionic liquid battery adhesive’, releasing the battery from its power pack.
Moreover, to make changes to the Face ID sensor hardware, the TrueDepth camera can be swapped from one unit to another easily. With the new Repair Assistant, professionals can configure new and used Apple parts directly on the device.
There is also on-device access to diagnostics to allow customers to decide which parts can be replaced or repaired without buying a new device. In fact, the company also announced new support for third-party and used Apple parts. It will show repair history within settings to calibrate used Apple parts with its cloud-based servers.
More advanced features will be announced soon, which hints at iPhone’s novel capabilities to provide users and repair specialists with more independence to make changes or collaborate with third-party apps.
