iPhone SE 4 to incorporate new design

Recent developments have provided an interesting glimpse of the upcoming budget-friendly iPhone SE of Apple. It is showcased through both video and video footage and photographs that depict either an actual device or a realistic dummy model.

Contrary to earlier speculations suggesting that the new iPhone SE will include the Dynamic Island design which can be seen in recent iPhones, this iteration appears to bring back the traditional notch.

Over the weekend, leaker Majin Bu uploaded a brief video that captured the new phone in bright sunlight, which was followed by a series of images displaying both white as well as black variants.

Consistent with the previous iPhone SE models, this version also incorporates a single rear camera. However, it marks a major shift as it seems that it would be the first one in the series to adopt a USB-C port, a change that has been mandated for devices to be sold within the European Union.

Possibly the most unexpected aspect of this device is the retention of the older notched display of Apple, instead of the anticipated Dynamic Island design that leaker Evan Blass suggested.

While the video does not make this distinction clear, the positioning of the selfie camera is just to the left of the center which aligns with the notch configuration of the iPhone 14. Moreover, the leaker has confirmed in responses that the device indeed features a notch. Two weeks ago, Sonny Dickon shared images of similar-looking SE 4 dummy units which were later offered for sale. The SE 4 is rumored to transition to an OLED display and it is expected to be equipped with sufficient RAM to facilitate Apple Intelligence features. Speculations suggest that the launch timeframe could be around March or April which coincides with the release of the iPhone SE 3 in March 2022.
