NordPass, a password manager published an annual list compiling the most easy-to-guess passwords for six years now. The recent list published by them includes quite a few bad passwords, some are even head-scratchers. It is common knowledge that using a strong password is essentially important to secure one’s data, however, the use of the dumbest possible passwords has still not reduced.
The list published by NordPass analyzes the set of passwords that are stolen by malware or are exposed in data leaks, the most recent list not only includes personal passwords but corporate passwords as well. The list published this year consists of data from 44 countries and it is quite amusing to see how people from different countries use the most common bad passwords.
The commonly used bad password in the U.S. is ‘secret’, whereas it is ‘qwerty123’ in Canada, however, ‘123456’ is the most common password used by people across 44 countries. This act of unawareness often leaves the personal information of the users vulnerable to increasing cyberattacks.
These passwords are among the easiest to guess commonly used by people from 44 different countries. Americans use most of these passwords making them top the list of using worst passwords.
Users making use of these popular passwords should consider this a good time to change their passwords to something unique and strong to keep their data secure.
