A fresh supply is out showcasing the upcoming ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 of Lenovo. It is a laptop that introduces the exciting feature of a secondary screen that slides out from the back, organized on a clever railing system for the users.
This innovative device is all set to make its debut at CES 2025. Last year, Lenovo took the tablet-laptop hybrid concept to a new dimension with the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5. The device combined a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 tablet with a Core Ultra 7 155H Meteor Lake chassis.
However, the ThinkBok Plus 6 Gen is ready to break away from the design and shift its focus to a fascinating extendable display.
The famous leaker Evan Blass shared some renders of the upcoming ThinkBook Plus 6 Gen slated which will be launched at CES 2025. While the specifics remain elusive, the images show that a secondary display is presently mounted on a sliding mechanism.
Unlike foldable or rollable screens that are displayed by brands such as TCL and Samsung, this design consists of two screens that are positioned side-by-side among which one is smartly sliding out.
Although it does not include a fully foldable display, this approach still represents that it is a remarkable solution for boosting screen space on a laptop. Enhancing screen space on a laptop is an issue that many manufacturers have struggled to address effectively.
It is expected that the specifications of ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 will be powered by either an Intel Arrow Lake-H or an AMD Strix/Krackan Point CPU. The renders that Evan Blass leaked vividly illustrate the secondary display being extended from the back of the laptop through a rail system. This shows a creative method for increasing screen reality, something that has proved to be challenging for many in the industry.
