Users of Nintendo were surprised by the Nintendo Switch 2 prototype images circulating online, and most of them seem to be legit, as confirmed by the company’s factory workers. Exciting as it is that the portable console will be unveiled by April 2025 has already increased gamers’ curiosity.
Apparently, the leaked renders show that the new console will most probably be similar to the original design, with some tweaks to the Joy-Con controllers. It might come with an additional USB-C port on the top of the system.
The Nintendo website VGC confirmed that the renderings that originated on a Chinese social media site and later ended up on Reddit are definitely accurate to the new console’s design, with possibly more advanced features.
The online leaked prototype of the Nintendo Switch 2 shows a console with a larger, 8-inch screen compared with the original Switch’s 6.2-inch screen and the OLED Switch’s 7-inch screen. They also show a different placement for LEDs on the Joy-Con controllers, attached magnetically to the console, and USB-C ports on the top and bottom of the system.
Moreover, the new console is expected to have a significantly higher amount of RAM and more internal storage for games. It might be introduced with an OLED screen with an upgraded Switch version, or it may have a base model with an LCD display.
Speculations are still hot online about the design and features of the new Nintendo console, with many users expecting a further delay because of this leak and others looking forward to more upgrades. 2025 is still far, so till then we keep waiting for any further information from the company.
