no mans sky

No Man’s Sky and Starfield might seem like totally different games, but it’s hard not to compare them. Both are these big, epic space games that had everyone talking. And, both had all the hype in the world.

Now, Starfield is hoping to make a comeback with its Shattered Space update. Meanwhile, it’s been eight long years since No Man’s Sky launched, and it’s finally bounced back in a big way, right up there with games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Fallout 76. But, hold on to your spaceships, because the latest No Man’s Sky update is shaking things up in a way you’d never expect.

The new update is called Adrift, and it’s all about one wild idea: what if the whole universe was just…empty?

Inspired by the early days of No Man’s Sky, Hello Games is introducing a parallel dimension where you can wander through endless planets, underground worlds, and multiple galaxies without running into a single soul. If you’ve ever stared up at the stars and felt that creepy-cool feeling of being totally alone in the universe, Adrift is your jam.

Just imagine there being no shops, no trading posts, no handy shortcuts, and no help whatsoever.

It’s just you and the cosmos, making No Man’s Sky the ultimate survival game. Of course, a couple of freaky threats still lurk around. Gigantic sandworms are now roaming free, and creepy fiend eggs are spreading like wildfire.

Everything else? Abandoned, rusty, and spooky. Sure, it’s lonely, but look at it this way: it’s No Man’s Sky in its purest, most peaceful form. This is like the quiet before the storm of updates and expansions – a return to the game’s roots.

To help you out, there’s a new Hauler starship called the Iron Vulture, plus a massive new frigate where you can take a breather before diving back into the void. No word yet on when Adrift is dropping, but Hello Games promises to spill the details soon.

While you’re waiting, why not dive into some other top RPGs or open-world games for that same expansive, exploratory vibe?
