Many who have bought the Steam Deck have been complaining about just how hard it is to set up the GeForce Now app on the console. Well, Nvidia has finally addressed all those complaints. In a recent update, Nvidia has made setting up the cloud gaming app GeForce Now a lot easier for Steam Deck users.
As they’ve stated in their latest GeForce Now blog post, they have recently released a new script that will automatically install Chrome on the device and configure it to run GeForce Now on Steam Deck’s gaming mode.
The script is still in beta mode so users might need to make a couple of adjustments to get the app to run properly. This is not the first time that Nvidia had to release software to make setting up and running GeForce Now on a portable gaming device easier.
The company has also released similar files for ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, and MSI Claw.
As stated by Nvidia, the script will make it a lot easier for Steam Deck owners with GeForce Now to access non-Steam games via the cloud, accessing their game libraries from digital storefronts such as GOG.com and Battle.Net.
While those are accessible on the Steam Deck without GeForce Now, this is still an alternative for some who might not want all the hassle of trying to get Epic Games Store or Ubisoft Connect running natively on the portable gaming PC.
Nvidia is one of the first cloud gaming services that has streamlined this process for the Steam Deck.
