There is some good news for Pixel users, Google will soon roll out a feature that will bring control over smart home devices from the Google Home app directly to the Pixel phone’s Bedtime mode section.
It has long been a part of Pixel devices. The Bedtime mode allows users to automate certain tasks on their Pixel devices between set hours of the day or while their phone is charging. This mode automatically turns on the phone’s Do Not Disturb mode, turns the screen grayscale, dims the brightness, and much more.
Google says that soon the Bedtime mode on the Pixel will also be able to integrate with your smart home devices via the Google Home app.
This is made possible by Home APIs, announced at Google I/O, which allow apps to use smart home connections from Google Home in new experiences. Pixel’s Bedtime mode, Google says, will be able to do things like adjust lights, lock the door, and more when Bedtime mode kicks in.
As of right now, we do not know what this new feature will look like or when it will become available to users, but it does sound like it will be a pretty handy feature that Pixel users might find useful.
