When the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses were released last fall, people thought that they were a pretty awesome tool to get content on the go and they also sport a surprisingly great pair of headphones too. But for something that is straight out of one of Joules Verne’s books, these glasses felt like they were missing something.
Yes, that feature is multimodal AI. And the best part is that the wait is now over. Ray-Ban in their partnership with Meta has just launched the next generation of smart glasses that is not only sleek and good-looking but also has advanced multimodal AI capabilities as well.
The glasses feature a voice assistant that even works with real-time information from the internet. Meta first began testing the AI features in December of 2023 and only released the feature to a couple of users.
Now, these smart glasses come equipped with the Llama 3 out of the box and Meta has said that they will be introducing more functions and features to the model soon. Aside from the new AI features, the wearable device will also support voice and video calling via any of the Meta Apps and the user on the other side will be able to see the POV of the wearer.
