Samsung at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 unveiled an exciting new feature that will transition from its smartphones and tablets to its television lineup.
Live Translate, as the name suggests, offers users real-time translation for live broadcasts. This innovative feature will support seven languages for users although, what all seven languages will be used has not been disclosed yet.
Right now it operates by translating the closed captions of a broadcast instead of interpreting the audio directly. Initially, it was launched in early 2024 with Galaxy S24. Live Translate is capable of handling 13 languages on mobile devices which is nearly double the number available for the TV version at launch.
In addition to this, Samsung is also introducing AI-driven Voice Removal with Audio subtitle which is a feature designed with the visually impaired community in mind. According to the company, this new tool has the ability to “analyze subtitles, isolate voices, and adjust reading speed for a seamless experience.”
Both features are ready to make their debut with the 2025 TV lineup, though it remains unclear if they will be supported by the older models.
Samsung’s lifestyle TV series is also getting enhancements with the arrival of the Fram Pro that ensures to offer improved features for design-savvy viewers. As for the pricing details for the 2025 TV collection, they are expected to be revealed in the upcoming months with shipments expected to begin this spring.
In a strategic move, Samsung is collaborating with Microsoft to add Copilot AI services to its smart TVs and monitors. It plans to work together with Google and other AI firms to further enhance Vision AI’s capabilities.
This new AI system will be rolled out across the entire range of smart TVs by Samsung including Neo QLED, OLED, QLED, and the Frame models. Samsung’s ambitious advancements reflect its commitment to transforming the television experience.
